"Rivers of Living Water" is a sculpture based on
my guide on a fishing trip in Colorado. He practiced and explained the "catch and release" practice so effectively
that I did this sculpture. Those familiar with the practice, as I was, usually do this without thinking. Our guide explained
the day to day, month to month, year to year effects and how the practice really changes peoples lives. Taking the
care to release a trout to the river unharmed had effects I had not thought about. Our guide told us about
the time a grandfather and his grandson caught a trout and released it, not long after, on another trip, a young couple
caught the very same fish on their honeymoon. I asked if that happens often and he said yes.
